Natural lacquered wood is designed to be both beautiful and durable, but like all natural materials, it will develop its own character over time. Proper care will help preserve its surface, protect it from damage, and ensure it ages gracefully for generations.

To keep your lacquered wood looking its best, dust it regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For routine cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth to remove light smudges or dirt, followed by a dry cloth to prevent moisture from sitting on the surface. Always test in an inconspicuous spot before cleaning more visible areas. Avoid abrasive sponges, strong detergents, or cleaners containing solvents, alcohol, or ammonia, as these can damage the finish.

Although the lacquer offers a layer of protection, wood is still sensitive to liquids, heat, and sunlight. Wipe away spills immediately to avoid staining or warping, and use coasters, placemats, or felt pads under objects to prevent scratches or heat marks. Keep the piece away from direct sunlight or heat sources, as prolonged exposure can cause fading or cracking.

If the surface becomes scratched or worn, light sanding followed by a matching natural lacquer can refresh its appearance. We recommend professional refinishing for more extensive repairs.
